Dear Mr. Parker,
The men and woman of the Culver City Police Officers Association wish to thank you, your outstanding company, and especially Nora Wyanwright for your generous donation of Pelican flashlights for the rescue workers and support staff of Hurricane Katrina. Days after this natural catastrophe, one of our officers, John Purnell, met with his father in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and drove to Poplarville Mississippi with a Salvation Army Disaster Relief Unit. Once there, this unit provided over 2000 hot meals a day to survivors and search and rescue workers in that area. Due to the wide spread power outages and the lack of personal lighting, John made a request to the association to send him three Pelican M-6 LED flashlights. Months before, Nora gave us a few M-6 LEDs to field-test in patrol. They worked so well, John took his M-6 with him to Mississippi to help in the disaster relief effort.
With one request, a representative of the association met with Nora at Pelican Products. She did not just give us the three M-6’s that we requested, but bestowed upon us numerous flashlights for the relief workers. We promptly shipped those lights to Mississippi and they were distributed to the grateful volunteers of John’s unit.
The compassion and generosity of Nora is another reflection of the Pelican family, which allows their employees the freedom to care for their community in this time of great need.
Thank you again,
James T. Raetz, President
